Jan Novák was born and raised in Mladá Boleslav. He is a student of the Prague Conservatoire and a laureate of the Prague Spring 2024 International Music Competition, where he managed to win the second place. He also won The Czech Music Foundation Prize for the best performance of a piece composed for this competition, the Oleg Podgorny Prize for the youngest and most successful Czech participant, the Czech Centres Prize for the most successful Czech participant, the Gideon Klein Prize, the Mercedes Benz Prize and the Audience Award. He achieved great success at the Conservatory Competition Show 2022, where he won in the violin category and therefore became the winner of this entire national event. In summer of 2023 Jan Novák graduated from the great Academy of Václav Hudeček, Luhačovice, which is a summer course for young violinists. He was also the best participant of that year.
